Property Taxes

The Township of East Zorra-Tavistock Financial Services department is responsible for the billing and collection of all interim, final and supplementary property tax billings from residential and non-residential properties.

Tax bills are mailed out twice a year as an interim tax bill and a final tax bill. Each tax bill has two installment due dates.

Due dates

Interim tax bills are due on the last business day of February and May of each year.

Final tax bills are due on the last business day of August and November of each year.

Interim tax bill

The interim tax billing is calculated at 50% of your previous years property taxes. The final bills are issued in August and will reflect the current year's taxes less what has been levied for the interim billing.

Late payments

Penalty and interest are charged at 1.25% monthly (15% per annum), applied the day after an installment is due also applied the first business day of each month on all past due balances.

Late payment charges are set in accordance with current legislation and cannot be waived. If payment in full is not received by the installment due date, a property tax arrears notice will be issued. Failure to receive a bill does not excuse the property owner from payment responsibility.
