Fire Department
There are three fire stations in the Township of East Zorra-Tavistock. These three volunteer stations provide fire and emergency services to the Township.

- Equipment: one tanker, one pumper and one rescue van
- 19 volunteer fire fighters
- 204 Stonegate Road, Innerkip
- District Fire Chief: Ken MacIntyre

- 260 Woodstock Street South, Tavistock
- District Fire Chief: Mike Donaldson

Flashing green lights
If you see a vehicle with a green flashing light, please move over to the right of the road to allow the vehicle with the green flashing light to pass. The green flashing light means that a Volunteer Firefighter is responding to an emergency call.
Incidents and responding to emergencies
Our firefighters respond to a wide variety of incidents and life threatening situations that include:
- All fires such as residential fires, commercial fires, industrial fires, vehicle fires and wildland fires.
- Medical emergencies
- Vehicle or multi-vehicle collisions
- Carbon monoxide emergencies
- Natural-gas and propane emergencies
- Support in hazardous and flammable materials spills & leaks
- CN & CP railroad incidents and emergencies
More than just fires
Aside from responding to fires, our fire department is responsible for a wide range of activities.
- Our fire personnel train on a continuous basis to ensure their ability to respond to emergencies with the township and handle them in a fast and efficient manner.
- Check all personal protective equipment, vehicles and rescue equipment
- Perform apparatus and station maintenance
