Payment Options

Tax bills can be paid through the following payment methods:

The Township offers three pre-authorized payment plans for your convenience. There are no service charges or penalty using the pre-authorized payment plan. Under the plan options, funds are withdrawn automatically from your bank account.

PAP Monthly

  • PAP 11. 11 withdrawals based on yearly taxes on the 15th of each Month (January - November)
  • PAP12. 12 withdrawals based on yearly taxes on the 15th of each month (January - December)

PAP Installment

  • Four installment amounts withdrawn on the four assigned due dates.
  • Due dates are the last business day of February, May, August and November.
  • You will receive your tax bills in February and August indicating what the instalments will be and the exact due date.

Am I eligible to enroll?

  • You must have no arrears outstanding on your tax account
  • Your taxes are not included in your mortgage payments

How to enroll?

Fill out and return the PAP form by mail, in person, fax or email to the Financial Services department.

When setting up through your bank:

  • Select “East Zorra-Tavistock” as the payee (you may have to play around with the wording as each bank may use a different payee name)
  • Enter all 19 digits of your property roll number starting with 3238.

  • Cheques should be made payable to the “Township of East Zorra-Tavistock”
  • Include the stub from your tax bill
  • Cheques may be mailed to: Township of East Zorra Tavistock, PO Box 100, 90 Loveys Street, Hickson, Ontario, N0J 1L0
  • Cheques dated for the due date or earlier are accepted

Cheque payments can be dropped off at any time at the Township Office (90 Loveys Street, Hickson) using the mail slot located to the left of the front exterior entry doors. Please do not submit cash.

  • Make cheques payable to the “Township of East Zorra-Tavistock”
  • Include your stub with your payment
  • Payment must be received in our office by the due date to avoid interest charges

If arrangements have been through a mortgage provider, tax amounts are sent directly to the property owner's mortgage company for payment. A bill is mailed to the owner at the end of the year after all payments have been received.

  • Our office accepts cash, debit or cheque. Credit card is not accepted.
  • Please bring your tax bill with you so it can be stamped for receipt of payment
  • Our office is located at 90 Loveys Street, Hickson, Ontario.
  • Payment can be made between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Due dates

Interim tax bills are due on the last business day of February and May of each year.

Final tax bills are due on the last business day of August and November of each year.

Late payments

Penalty and interest are charged at 1.25% monthly (15% per annum), applied the day after an installment is due also applied the first business day of each month on all past due balances.

Late payment charges are set in accordance with current legislation and cannot be waived. If payment in full is not received by the installment due date, a property tax arrears notice will be issued. Failure to receive a bill does not excuse the property owner from payment responsibility.
