Catch up with what happened at last weeks East Zorra-Tavistock Council Meeting with a quick read of the meeting highlights below. 

During the Meeting

• Council endorsed the resolution from the Township of Zorra regarding road jurisdiction in civil court proceedings. 
• Council reviewed information concerning Oxford County Community Planning's work to undertake a formal review and consideration of measures to increase residential density. 
• Notice was received of County Council's approval in principle of the draft 2024 Water and Wastewater Master Plan. Included in the plan are updates in both water and wastewater infrastructure in the Township. 
• Notice was also received of County Council's approval in principle of the draft 2024 Transportation Master Plan. 
• Council accepted the bid from A.G. Hayter Contracting Ltd. for the construction of the McLean Drain 2023. The project is to commence in 2024. 
• A staff report from Human Resources was reviewed and approved by Council regarding policy updates with respect to retiree benefits and working alone. 
• Staff reports from By-law, Corporate Services, and Treasury were received. Of note, the 2022 budget surplus of approximately $336,000 has been split evenly between the Tavistock Arena Reserve and the Tax Rate Stabilization Reserve.
