Council Meeting Highlights - June 21, 2023
Catch up with what happened at last weeks East Zorra-Tavistock Council Meeting with a quick read of the meeting highlights below.
During the Meeting
- Council reviewed Blandford-Blenheim's request to terminate the Building Services Agreement. The change will require some minor adjustments in the Township's Building Department.
- An update on the Township's Secondary Planning process was received. Progress is ongoing, water and wastewater servicing strategies are currently at the forefront in the planning analysis.
- A delegation from John Cockburn, on behalf of the Innerkip Meadows subdivision, was presented regarding excess water flow and flooding issues. Council listened to the concerns, and asked numerous questions. A drainage study that is currently planned to be completed in Innerkip may provide more information on the issue.
- The Tavistock Spray Pad Request for Proposal has closed and Proposals are being evaluated.
- A new rental agreement with the Tavistock Curling Club was approved by Council.
Planning Matters
- Oxford County Community Planning presented an application for Zone Change in order to permit Additional Residential Units (ARUs) in the Township. Council approved in principle the proposed Zoning By-law Amendments, and directed staff to work with Oxford County staff to confirm servicing capacity prior to any ARU building permit issuance. Staff were also directed to review and provide a report back to Council with a process to confirm compliance with all municipal requirements. Planning Staff were requested to provide a report back to Council, six months after the Zoning By-law provisions have been in place to report any implementation or interpretation issues.

The next regularly scheduled East Zorra-Tavistock Council Meeting is set for Wednesday July 5 , 2023 at 9:00am.
