Oxford County recently installed new pedestrian crossovers in Drumbo, Innerkip, Ingersoll, Tillsonburg and Thamesford (coming soon) to improve road safety for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists. Know your role. Pedestrians have the right of way at crossovers. Drivers and cyclists must stop behind the pavement markings and wait until pedestrians have completely crossed the road before proceeding. Drivers and cyclists not following the rules may face fines of up to $1,000 and drivers may incur four (4) demerit points.
Look for the new pedestrian crossovers in our Township, located in Innerkip at:
• Blandford Street at Stratford Street and Young Street
• Oxford Road 33 at Stonegate Road
